A brief history of Inclusive Technology
Inclusive Technology was established in 1996 by three teachers with strong backgrounds in special education and technology. Martin Littler, formerly Director of the government-funded Special Education Micro-Electronic Resource Centre (SEMERC), was joined by Trish Hornsey, SEMERC’s Development Manager, and Roger Bates, Director of the Northern ACE Centre (pictured left: Roger, Trish and Martin).
Together, they helped shape the direction of assistive technology in education. Inclusive was among the first to introduce assistive equipment into classrooms and quickly became a global leader in accessible software for individuals with severe and complex needs.
The three founders have since retired and handed the reigns over to a management team who have developed a real understanding and passion for innovative assistive technology and knowledge of how it can help those with disabilities. They have built upon strong foundations and continue to create a market leading product portfolio.
