VAT Relief 💷
Some of our products may qualify for zero-rated VAT under UK government rules. To apply VAT Relief, three conditions must be met:
-
You (or the person you're buying for) are chronically sick or disabled
-
The product is eligible for VAT Relief
-
It is for domestic or personal use only
When you add a product to your basket, a pop-up will ask you to confirm your VAT Relief status. Complete the online form and VAT will automatically be removed only from eligible products at checkout.
Standard VAT (20%) will still apply to non-eligible products and delivery charges.
1. Who Can Claim VAT Relief 🧾
You must declare that you or the person you’re buying for is chronically sick or disabled.
You don’t need to be registered disabled, supply medical certificates, or get a doctor’s signature — but you must describe the condition clearly on the form.
The VAT Relief form can be:
-
Completed during online checkout
-
Requested by phone or email
-
Used by those buying on behalf of someone else (e.g. a child or person in care)
Note: We cannot process a VAT Relief order without a completed form.

2. Eligible Products 📦
Only certain products qualify for VAT Relief. These are clearly marked on our website.
Eligibility is based on the product being “designed solely for use by disabled people.” This definition is set in VAT law and must be claimed by the product’s manufacturer or importer.
At Inclusive Technology:
-
We have made claims for our own eligible products (e.g. software).
-
We also claim for eligible items we import.
-
For other products, eligibility is determined by the manufacturer or HMRC, not us.
3. Domestic or Personal Use Only 🏡
VAT Relief only applies when products are used for an individual’s personal or domestic use.
It does not apply if products are:
-
Used for business purposes
-
Supplied to or used in hospitals, care homes, or by groups of people
Products must be bought specifically for a named individual, not for general access.
